I was excited to receive a flyer from my son’s school today about an upcoming book fair they are having. Ever since we got DIRECTV all he ever wants to do inn his free time is watch television. I’m hoping that I can find some books that he will find as entertaining as his favorite shows. Or maybe even some books that his favorite shows are based on. I have to admit, it’s as much my fault as anyone’s. There’s always something on and it’s easy to use the television as a babysitter. In fact, I’m guilty of watching too much television myself in the evenings after he goes to bed. Maybe I should look for some books for myself too! I know one thing we won’t do and that’s give up our television completely. Much of the stuff we watch is educational in nature, like National Geographic or the news and it helps keep us in touch with the world around us. We just need to do a better job managing how in touch and educated it keeps us and that we don’t rely on it as our only source of keeping up with the world!

Hi everybody! I hope all is well. It's spring, so enjoy the nice weather! Wow, it's been a while since I last wrote on here. I've been slacking again...LOL! I like my free time; I'm  on spring/summer break. So yeah, I get to enjoy lotsa things, even if I want to be lazy for a while-away from the books ;). Well, I haven't been doing a whole lot of things lately other than keeping in touch with family and friends online. I am finding quite a number of people I used to know or see back in my homeland. I have also been spending some time playing on Facebook: Tetris battle. It's so much fun, but I couldn't seem to pass level 20, so far...LOL! Anyway, I am late-night blogging here, I am getting sleepy, so let me get off for now. Kind regards, and happy spring!

I love living here but sometimes I feel really envious of my sister who lives in New York City. I've always sort of been a city girl at heart and I wonder how different my life would be if I lived in the Big Apple or somewhere similar. I mean, I have a really great job here and all the technology I want… 4g Framingham is just as fast here as it is in any metropolitan area but I do miss all the good shopping and cultural opportunities my sister seems to have up in New York. The good news is about living here that I'm saving thousands of dollars a year and at some point I'm going to have a nest egg that dwarfs my sisters. I don't have to pay $2500 a month to live in a tiny apartment… I have my very own two-bedroom house that I bought out right when I was only 28. I don't know who actually has the better set up but the grass is always greener.

The winter isn't so bad this year. So far we only had up to a few inches of snow on the ground. So wow! This winter is definitely mild, and we like it that way. Oh...it's cold. Anyway, speaking of what's new. Well, I am thinking about learning to drive soon. That's exciting even though it is actually scary because of how quickly an accident can happen. My husband and other family members were involved in auto-accidents, but fortunately none of them were seriously injured-that is in terms of avoiding death. I am excited about being able to drive, but not too much because I'll be driving in a big city with heavy traffic, almost daily. I wonder how I'll manage... .

I just moved into the best apartment I have ever lived in. It is twice as big as my last place and the amenities of the complex are worth every penny. My old place was terrible and didn’t even have a pool. I was starting to get depressed about how terrible my living situation was until I found the new place. The rent is much more expensive, but finding Direct tv deals and reducing my entertainment budget has provided the extra money I needed to cover the rent. I unpacked the last box last night and I am not officially moved. It is a wonderful feeling to no longer have to think about my old place. I don’t know why I would have ever moved into it in the first place. The layout of the apartment was terrible. You had to go through the bedroom to get to the kitchen, so entertaining people was weird. You were only allowed two guests at a time. The restrictions they had were unreasonable. Thankfully I am in my new wonderful place and I look forward to lots parties with lots people. I know my future is looking great!

I am off school now and I am enjoying my break. I got to do a lot of things I am fond of. I especially like being online watching my favorite programs, movies, blogging, social networking, etc. And I think before I decide to do anything else I'll take some time to recover some of our lost photos from a reformatted hard drive...ugh, it can be such a drag. I am also thinking about digital-scrapbooking, I'll see if I have time for it as it can be time consuming-I'm still a newbie at that. Anyway, this is all for now, I am kinda pressed for time. I never thought I would see the day come when I would be using parental control on our TV. Now that we have elementary school age kids, I feel more strongly than ever about filtering what they watch on TV. My husband has always been the one to filter what the kids watch and I completely trust his judgment. I do not watch enough TV to even know how to filter the channels that the kids should not be watching. Luckily we have DIRECT TV and my husband said that it is very easy to set up parental control for channels or programs we choose to block. Our kids do not watch very much TV, and when they do they are pretty good about watching educational programs. Occasionally they want to watch a show that they heard about from their friends at school and if it is a blocked channel or program, they are not allowed to watch it. It does let us know what kind of programs the kids’ friends are watching. Hopefully we are making the right decisions about what our kids are watching.

When I was a little girl, my parents never really encouraged me to get any exercise so I just mainly sat inside and watched TV most of the time. Well, I've had to break that bad habit as an adult and learn to exercise instead of sit inside all day. I try to teach my kids to play outside for fun and also to exercise, and I think that one of the best ways to do that is to play with them. That way we're both working out! But I think that the kids get even more bored than I do when it comes to physical activities. I was online a few weeks ago to look up some new outdoor activities to try out when I found the site http://www.satellitestarinternet.com/. I looked through it some and after that I ordered a satellite internet package. I got the idea to jump rope with my kids. That made me think of back in school PE when we would do double Dutch jump rope, so I went out and bought a few jump ropes. I taught my girls how to do that and it was so much fun! I think that will be an activitiy that we can do every so often.

Since I quit my job I have really been thinking about having a small online business. It would help supplement our limited income. I could also use the extra money. Having an online business would be ideal for me since my life is hectic. I only wonder how I can make it happen though. I know how to maintain a website, but then I am apprehensive about the cost and all the paper work I have to take care of. As for having a website. Well, I owned a website before and although it was for a personal reason, I learned how it works. I also found a website where I can compare prices and the different services I can benefit from. I might look into getting a website hosting for my small business. If I do take it seriously that I have an online business, I will need to make sure my website is hosted by a reliable server because it is important to me that my customer can access my website anytime. Having a good amount of bandwidth is one of the keys to having a successful online business. I may require a lot of space for my files as well since I am thinking about selling. It would especially be nice if I get a data backup and restoration, too. That way I don't have to worry about losing any of my files. Anyway, if I ever venture into having a small online business, the first thing I must do is see about web hosting reviews because they are helpful with finding the right web hosting.

Why, since the warm weather is coming, I am reminded that I should get into shape. I let myself go for a while now. I lost my waist, and I have a belly bulge that I couldn't seem to get rid of. It's been difficult for me to achieve flats abs. Now do I need to take weight loss pills to lose a few pounds? Maybe I do, and so far I am looking into getting some. My husband and daughter could also use some help with losing weight. Both of them have gained tremendous amount of weight. So for them to lose weight, they will probably need some motivation to be able to get on with losing weight. It's not always easy to do especially when it takes some time. I'm going to have to refer my husband to a website with loads of tips and reviews about getting back in shape and what are the best weight loss pills to get. So far he has only been wishing to lose weight, but he hasn't made any effort to do so just yet. Anyway, I do hope that we can all lose a few pounds before the summer, because we live near the beach. Looking our best and being in good health should be among our top priorities.

Wooh! It's super cold this winter. We're having a snow storm at the moment, but I hope it won't be so bad that I miss school. Snow is always what holds me back from keeping a perfect attendance in school. Anyway, speaking of snow, according to the weather forecast, we're going to have at least 7-10 inches of snow. As of right now, it looks like we have a few inches of snow on the ground already. If we get more, then so be it, I have no big worries. My school closed for a couple of days, and the snow storm will be over by the time I go back to school. So, yahooh for me. I have some time to take it easy. I hardly find a bra that I have no trouble with. Most of the time I find myself fixing my bra strap to stay in place. It's quite cumbersome for me because it also makes me feel self conscious.
